Easter

We got the kids giant Easter bunnies and toilet paper. I have a girlfriend in Remsenburg who is on the toilet paper patrol and sniffs out the local sources. Amazing how we women are sticking together through the ether. There have been recipe exchanges and some people send recipes that have ingredients from a gourmet market.  My recipe was marinate chicken breasts in the fridge with kraft Italian. Bam I am a hero.

Stephen and I went for a two hour bike ride in Q. It was a cloudy days with moments of piercing sun. We can see the dogwood trees and the weeping willows blooming.  Perhaps a metaphor of hope. I feel so lucky to be able to put food on the table. It’s nice to have teenagers in the pandemic. Stephen, James and Campbell have been super helpful and I am really proud of them for cleaning up after themselves, managing their homework and being diligent and kind. Stephen has to go on virtual college tours to show interest in the schools he’ll be applying to. He had a meeting with his ACT tutor today though I cannot imagine there will be any more standardized tests this calendar year.

We are back to the bad weather tomorrow for the next week. All the things I care about are so small. The weather, a big sink full of dirty dishes and keeping up with housework are things I never would have thought about in my life before.  I cut my toe nails for the first time in 35 years. There were so many nail salons in NYC that as teen I had started getting my nails done. Amazing how spoiled we all were. I miss being spoiled. I’m bratty enough to admit it. Though I think we all do.

Tonight we are going to dress up and put on our Easter best.  I ordered this giant social distancing rainbow tulle skirt. I’m wearing it tonight.
